Inspired by Rococo motifs from a century earlier, this 19th-century ecusson panel consists of asymmetrical items inspired by nature, such as a scalloped shell, gadrooned leaves, and a rose. Hand-carved in oak, the French panel has a parcel paint white finish with accents of the true brown wood and some teal rubs. The elaborate crest consists of a bishop’s mitre bejeweled with a lozenge and a foliate-inspired crozier flanking a two-tiered shell accompanied by a rose and curled leaves.
