About the Item
The 3D ceramic tiles produced by the Gilson company, established in Campagne-lès-Wardrecques, tell the story of how traditional brick manufacturers set out to reclaim innovation, contributing to the expression of the architectural surfaces that the magazine Le Living Wall in the 1960s-1970s. Thanks to the glazed molded terracotta, the architecture acquires a shape, a color, a texture which shimmer in the light and reinforce the tactile quality of an art invested by a whole series of compositions inspired by the geometry of these modular elements. The care taken in the treatment of the joints which connect these left surfaces then plays an essential role in the organization of these undulating compositions.
