About the Item
Monumental sized kinetic wall art sculpture designed and made by Christoph Bollinger in his own workshop in Germany, 1974. This amazing sculpture is not only impressive by its size but also the way its was constructed. Paying high attention to details, balance and craftsmanship, this sculpture was hand made by Bollinger in his own workshop. The sculpture mainly consists out of copper tubes and wiring. Bent in an astronomical galaxy shape in a way. It also has the appearance of a clock, especially when it’s plugged in. The smaller arm turns around and as soon as it’s on the right, it lifts the long arm to a certain height until it falls down and balances up and down for another minute until the small arm comes back and the movement continues. Of course, this sculpture also looks amazing when its not on, so it doesn’t need to be on all the time, but this will surely be a conversation piece. The piece comes directly from the artist, and it is a unique piece, only 1 was made. The piece is signed at the front; Bollinger 1974 ‘35’. Could be that he numbered all his unique pieces, and this was nr 35 what he made. The piece is in very good original condition without any damages or missing parts and has an amazing original patina from years of usage. The piece is way more impressive than the pictures can tell, seeing it is believing it. Works on electricity with a plug in.
