About the Item
Coppia di Importanti Cariatidi del 1600 in legno intagliato a patina scura provenienti da un complesso corale impiegati come divisori tra gli stalli. Le due figure sono asessuate, con capelli lunghi e reggono sulla testa un capitello ionico. Entrambi i torsi hanno adottato una soluzione originale per ovviare alla mancanza delle braccia innestando sulle spalle due volute, due riccioli rivolti verso i pettorali. Sotto gli addomi rilassati, un panneggio nell’uno e delle volute nell’altro raccordano le figure alla parasta intagliata. Nella parte mediana, due differenti composizioni di frutta intagliata in altorilievo.
Le cariatidi hanno subito dei vecchi restauri con minime integrazioni e consolidamenti, ma sono sostanzialmente in buono stato di conservazione, considerandone la datazione.
