A most attractive and extremely decorative Italian 18th century white Carrara marble plaque of Venus de Medici. This most elegant oval shaped white Carrara marble relief showcases the stunning profile of the original statue of Venus de Medici, carved in the 1st century BCE. Venus de’ Medici is currently housed in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy, where it has been part of the collection since the late 17th century. Wonderful detail and proportions throughout.
