About the Item
Tile wall art plaque by Panos Valsamakis (ca. 1960s, Greece). Though the Valsamakis workshop continues to operate despite Panos Valsamakis having passed away in 1986, certain studio works are no longer in production (this example included).
Figural work featuring a family with child and baby, hand-painted in attractive orange, pink, pale blue, and earth tones on a terracotta tiles, all housed within a wooden frame equipped with a bracket for wall mounting.
Very good vintage condition with only light wear/patina present.
Bears the Valsamakis signature, an interlacing of the Greek letters “pi” and “beta.”
