Two Ancient Greek Carved Marble Plaques
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
A pair of interesting ancient Greek style statuary marble relics or wall plaques, depicting a serpent and dove in relief. Thought to be of Greek or Italian origin, these antique wall plaques have an ancient look and feel, with wear and discolouration that offers a glimpse into their history. Perhaps they were once collector’s items, architectural fragments discovered by a traveller on their grand tour throughout Europe in the 18th to 19th century… We have conservatively estimated the date to circa 1800, these antique marble wall plaques...

Antique Wooden Carved Black Forest Game Plaque with Fox
Located in Berghuelen, DE
Antique wooden carved Black Forest game plaque with fox An antique wooden hunting game plaque with impressive carving of a fox and hunting accessoires. Black Forest, executed ca. 1900. Very good condition. This plaque is a splendid addition to every rustic wall decoration. The tradition of wood carving in Brienz dates back to mid of the 19th century. People in the region were looking for new employment opportunities. They used their skills from traditional crafts, carving everyday objects and sculptures, and created a new business. Many woodcarvers were trained in the 'School of Wood Carving, Brienz' which was established in 1884. Around 1900 the woodcarving industry counted ca. 2000 woodcarvers. Brienz woodcarvings were presented on several worlds fairs with great success. With the Gran Tour Tourism wealthy people from all over the word visited the area and took their woodcarving souvenirs home. Today some companies, like 'Huggler Holzbildhauerei' still exist and build traditional sculptures. Measures: Width: 13.78" (35 cm) Height: 18.5" (47 cm) Depth: 2.76" (7 cm) Literature Reference: Peter F. Blackman, Black Forest Woodcarvings, Atglen 2009. Modern Geometric Mixed Metal Dimensional Wall Sculptures by C Jere Series of 4
By C. Jeré Artisan House
Located in Topeka, KS
Gorgeous modern series of four geometrical dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere, unsigned but easily documented online. Comprised of steel, brass, and copper. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are scratches on all 4 sculptures, a ding on one, and we have replaced 2 triangular bent metal pieces. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, late 20th – early 21st century. Oh yeah… it’s hip to be square!! And in this case, that is definitely true!! This is an awesome series of four-square dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere displaying various unique and abstract geometric designs comprised of steel, brass, and copper arranged in the center of each metal square. C. Jere (a.k.a.) Curtis Jere is not a single artist but is a nom-de-plume for a group of artists working for Artisan House and well known for their phenomenal jewelry, metal sculptures, and collectibles. This series of four is a MUST have for any wall that needs a bold statement piece, touch of Modern style, or simply an intriguing, phenomenal piece of artwork! Position them to your preference and change any wall from being bland, to BOOM! They would be wonderful side by side in a row of four however, I envision them stacked one on top of the other in a large square. Maybe over a fireplace, on a wall in a tall entry way, or on a primary wall in your living room. If you’ve been looking for the right touch of Modern or Industrial edge to welcome into your home… you just found it! Artisan House artists included founders Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels and Curtis Jere is a combination of their names. Before founding Artisan House these two friends and brothers-in-law had built a costume jewelry business which sold under the names of Renoir and Matisse, two well-known names of mid-20th century costume jewelry. During the mid-20th century, the C. Jere sculptures, and metal work were distributed by Raymor, a well-known name in mid century collectibles, and sold at Gump’s in San Francisco and other upscale retail establishments. Jerry Fels died 11...
