About the Item

Product Description:  Piet Hein was a polymath from Copenhagen, he was a mathmatician, poet, designer, writer and inventor. During the second world war he joined the resistance in Denmark and wrote pieces denouncing the German occupation. On this yearplate produced by Royal Copenhagen his poems have been written. Each yearplate in the series has its year of production displayed on the back. Besides this yearplate from 1959 we ha several other yearplates on offer. Product Condition: It was difficult to show on the photo, but different marks are present on the plate looking like knife scratches. However, none of the scratches spoil the plate's aesthetics. On the back side, there are 3 marks visible of the pillars of the kiln at the time of firing. Weight: 224g
