This is an exceptional sage green handmade wall sculpture designed by Finnish modernist Maija-Liisa Vasenius for Kalevala Koru, 1960s
The piece is signed "MV" on the verso complete with a Kalevala Koru label identifying its origin.
Crafted from ceramic and wire, this hanging sculpture features a beautifully glazed surface in varying shades of sage green, highlighted by irregular brown dots and elegant black ornamental accents. The design resembles an abstract face, creating a unique decorative statement for any space. It can be displayed directly on the wall or hung freely as a mobile, although the backside is unglazed.
