About the Item
A sapphire, diamond, silver, and yellow gold bangle, comprising three cushion-shaped sapphire, and seventeen old and rose cut diamonds, in silver and 14 karat yellow gold.
My favourite thing about this Antique 14K Gold and Silver Sapphire and Diamond Bangle is the soft blue of the sapphires. What’s yours? Perhaps the sparkling diamonds? Or the pretty design?
A beautiful Victorian bangle, set to the centre with a sapphire and diamond cluster. To the centre of the cluster is a cushion-shaped blue sapphire. The sapphire is surrounded by 9 old mine cut diamonds, creating a pretty daisy cluster. The sapphire and diamonds are raised on a basket setting, allowing light to filter through and aid sparkle. The central sapphire has some interesting colour zoning, with a paler, bluish-green area to one corner. The shoulders of the bangle are each set with a scrolling, diamond and sapphire motif, with a sapphire to the centre, and 2 diamonds branching off to either side. The diamonds are bright, white, sparkly, and well-matched with one another. The sapphires are a soft, velvet-blue hue, and are well-matched with one another. The sapphires are set in yellow gold, and the diamonds are set in silver, the silver accentuating the bright sparkle of the diamonds. The bangle is knife-edge in shape, and is hinged, with a secure box clasp, complete with an integral safety chain. The bangle is in good condition, the central sapphire has a few nibbles to the girdle. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
