Judith Hendler designed this stunning Lucite or Acrylic bracelet bangle in the 1980s. It is a contrast of black and white with a coiled-wrapped design.
Judith Hendler is a famous Californian jewelry designer from the 1980s. She created exquisite Lucite or acrylic jewelry for high-end department stores and runway shows. Her designs are unique and distinguished, and easily recognized by collectors. Her items are hand-cut and polished, not molded. Every prominent Department Store, such as Saks Fifth Avenue, carried her jewelry collections during that period. They were not signed, except for a few items from runway shows.
Measurements: inside across is 2.57 in diameter (6.5 cm) - outside across is 3.57 in diameter (9.1 cm) - Largest width is 2 in (5.1 cm) - The inner circumference of the bracelet is 7.91 in (20.10 cm) - It will best fit an average Small wrist size of 7-7.5 in circumference maximum (18-19 cm).

Judith Hendler
Judith Hendler was already a nationally known artist before she started making her unique lucite jewelry. Her paper sculptures were exhibited all over California and in New York City. Hendler, Los Angeles-born, began making jewelry from her husband's discarded acrylic extrusions left over from the manufacture of aircraft windshields and cockpit canopies. Hendler's jewelry distributed under the name Acri-Gems Inc., her brand was soon being sold at Bonwit Teller, Saks Fifth Avenue, Etc. Specifically noted was a piece worn by actresses Joan Collins on the Television series Dynasty in 1985.
