The average jade bangle has an inner diameter (opening for your hand) of between 50-54mm. This fits the majority of women. Jade bangles in larger sizes for men are difficult to find. And *extremely* difficult to find in a rare, highly-desirable color like this orangy-yellow. Measuring approximately 90.39 in exterior diameter, with an interior diameter of 70.14mm, this jade bangle will fit most men. The jade is 10.14 mm thick and is carved in a traditional round fashion. To measure your hand for a bangle, wrap a length of string or ribbon tightly around the widest part of your hand and mark it with a pen, then use a tape measure to measure from the pen mark to the end of the ribbon and translate the inches to mm. There are also tutorials online for measuring your hand for a jade bangle. This finely hand-carved bangle is certified natural and untreated jadeite jade from Burma. On the gem lab report that ships with the bangle, you will notice that it reads, paraffin was detected on the bangle. If you've read about jade you've certainly learned that it's "traditional" for jade to receive a bath in plum juice and then be polished with bee's wax. This is a natural, non-destructive treatment that is fully accepted by gem labs. But in my experience, I have only found wax on older jade; jade that pre-dates diamond polish and electric tools; jade from 1950 or earlier. Today, it's possible with modern lapidary equipment to achieve a mirror-finish on most pieces of jade so wax is unnecessary. Manually polished jade has a slightly less "perfect" polish and wax just gave it the perfect finishing sheen. This bangle has a beautiful, hand-polish that suggests it dates from the 1930s or 1940s. If you love orange and can pull it off, this the bangle for you. I have never encountered a second orangy-yellow natural jade bangle and I don't expect that I will. Yellow is a rare color and you need a lot of it to create a bangle, let alone one of this size. Windex is very helpful when it comes to sliding the bangle both on and off your wrist. The perfectly sized bangle will not be in danger of sliding off when your arms are down at your sides. This means it can be uncomfortable to slide it over your hand. Youtube is your friend when it comes to learning the tricks of putting on a jade bangle. A rare and spectacular bracelet that slides discreetly under your shirt cuff during the day, this is a bangle you can wear every day for the rest of your life.
