About the Item

A charming fob/charm from the Georgian era (ca1810) with a lovely Urn motif! Crafted in bright 18k gold, the fob is petite and beautifully decorated with white and royal blue glittering enamel. Bezel-set at the base is an oval-shaped orange piece of chalcedony engraved with the initials "ML" in the script. The petite fob hangs from a bail that is set with four petite rose-cut diamonds. The enamel work is accented with draped floral sprays throughout the body of the urn. The bail of the urn can be unscrewed from the charm to reveal a hollow interior. A lovely antique piece, it is perfect for a Georgian-obsessed collector! Measurements: The fob measures 1 1/4" tall, including the bail. The stone at the base is 3/8" in diameter. Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent, considering its age. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The enamel shows minor areas of wear and is exceptionally well-kept for the piece's age. The quartz fob shows a few minor scratches. The stone is secure in its setting.

Victorian 18k Banded Agate, Pearl + Enamel Mourning Locket
Located in Narberth, PA
This rare mourning locket from the Victorian (ca1875) era is quite a stunning piece! Crafted in vibrant 18k gold, the decorative locket serves as an incredible example of the mourning jewelry tradition. A delicate white pearl is pin-set in a gold 8-pointed star; a classic Victorian motif. The pearl and star rest in the center of a bezel-set piece of banded agate, surrounded by a gold twisted rope-like border around the bezel. The agate and pearl are encompassed by a broad gold boarder heavily adorned with black enamel. The enamel script reads "In memory of" on the four points of the cross. In between the points of the cross, gorgeously enameled flower-like shapes fill in the negative space. The outer edges of the locket also feature spoked gold-shot detail. The locket also boasts an over-sized bail that features the same floral enamel styling that can be seen throughout. The backside of this piece features a single large compartment with a removable glass face with gold frame that likely once held a photo or memento of the deceased. Engraved above the top of the compartment reads "George May, Died 6...

We do our best to photograph and describe condition as accurately as possible if we notice something. There is no point in hiding anything or lying about the condition of used items that are at least several decades old.. Also presume that sometimes metal parts, stones or enamels ,etc. may show minor scratches, chips, micro-dents, minor deformations and other signs of wear and aging that we could miss to notice in description, unintentionally. . If there are questions about an item, please email me before you buy it. I will note in the description any anomalies but also provide visual aid concerning condition though photographs, and these should be considered part of the description. Most images of items listed were taken under natural light at daytime. We use modern high quality digital cameras and additional photo equipment for image processing. We upload high quality images that allow to see well the shapes, colors and flaws of very small stones . So look carefully before you buy anything. In reality some colors of materials involved may look a bit differently depending on light conditions, settings and functionality of your monitor and my camera. Your personal perception of colors and physiological conditions of your eyes may also affect the vision of the items. Gemstones may often look differently in different light and weather conditions and time of the day, both indoors and outdoors. Stones of the rings photographed alone may look a bit differently when on hand because your finger makes the back side of the stone closed and light no longer can go through and the color becomes different. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. Some buyers tried to make return...
