About the Item

A rare bracelet designed and created by Zahara Schatz of Israel. Schatz exhibited and won prestigious prizes in the U.S. and Europe, including at the Milan Triennale and The Museum of Modern Art in New York, where she was recognized for a 1951 lamp design. She also worked in plastics, exhibiting at Walker Art Center in 1948 with a bracelet, necklace, and pin made from laminated plastic with bits of wire, sequence, and colored material. This work was also shown at the Bertha Schaefer Gallery in New York City. Bracelet measures 2-3/8" wide with an inside diameter of just under 2-1/4". It measures 5.5" in circumference and has a 1.25" gap, so it fits fairly small wrist. In very good vintage condition.
