Chanel 1980s Iconic Gold Lion Face Cuff by Robert Goosens
About the Item
Presented is one of Chanel's iconic gold quilt design cuff bracelets with lion face by famous French designer Robert Goosens of Paris. Goosens first met Coco Chanel in 1953 and continued with a life long career of designing bijoux for her. One of his most famous designs is the is the face of a lion surrounded by a chain of Chanel interlocking CC logo. To further emphasize the face, Goosens designed the mane to spray outward creating a medallion effect. The cuff has Chanels famous quilt design. There is a top and bottom latch clasp. The interior has a textured nugget surface with a circumference of 6.5 inches (16.5 cm). Additionally, there is the Chanel oval signature plaque inscribed with Chanel, copyright and registry marks, and Made in France. This signature plaque with out season or year numbers insures the cuff is pre 1986 when the signature plaques were changes. Condition is very very fine with minimal to barely visible wear. Lastly there is a small S stamped into the inside hinge of cuff.

A large statement rhinestone bracelet by De Liguoro circa 1980. The cuff consists of repeating zig zag rows of gold, red and clear emerald cut rhinestones set into shiny gold plate metal. The inner length is 8 inches with 1/2 inch opening. The outer length is 9.75 with a 1/2 inch opening. The cuff is 2.5 inches wide. Interior in a satin gold finish. At one end is the oval signature plaque. In the middle is a round signature plaque. Both inscribed "di Liguoro."
Gianni De Liguoro founded the company in the 1970s and continues today with expanded lines of hats, gloves, eye glasses and swim wear. De Liguoro has produced couture bijoux for over fifty years and an exhibition was dedicated to the company by the Museo del Bijoux in Casalmaggiore. The only museum dedicated to jewelry in Italy.
