A rare opportunity to acquire a vintage Fattorini Egyptian scarab cuff. Made by Thomas Fattorini of Birmingham, England this cuff was part of a collection commissioned by the Times newspaper, originally sold at the British Museum London during the Tutankhamun Exhibition in 1972. The cuff is designed with an impactful combination of gold plated metal and enamel, showcasing perfectly the dramatic faux lapis lazuli scarab centrepiece created from a type of plastic or light resin. The design is totally outstanding and carries a wondrous Egyptian aura with exceptional detail. Given the original Fattorini samples carried a range of approvals including: a Museum Curator in Egypt, the Curator of Egyptian Antiquities plus the Fashion Editor of the Times newspaper, it's no surprise this cuff is special. This vintage Fattorini Egyptian scarab cuff measures approx. 17.5cm internal circumference by approx. 5cm deep at the front and is signed. The overall vintage condition is very good with no damage to the enamel or gold plate and only a slight lifting of the scarab head of any note. This would not impact wearability or look and this standard of condition is increasingly rare in these pieces. Further information can be found directly at the Thomas Fattorini website.
