About the Item

An American art deco-retro bracelet with aquamarine. This is a beautiful statement bracelet created in America during the late art-deco period, back in the 1940. The bracelet is very substantial carefully crafted with massive and strong look in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with polished finish. It is accented with white gold parts which are embellished with sixteen earth mined natural diamonds and mounted in the center with one superb Brazilian blue aquamarine. It is fitted with a concealed security push box and two hinged figures 8 for extra safety. Aquamarine: Mount in the center in a four-prongs setting, with 1 emerald faceted cut (30 x 22 x 13 mm) aquamarine with a weight of about 61.20 carats (calculated by formula). Diamonds: Mount in flush settings, with 16 calibrated European single round cut diamonds, with a total weight of about 0.64 carats, white colorless G/H color, VS/SI clarity. Birthstone: Aquamarine for the month of March. Weight: 90.2 Grams, (57.85 Dwt). Size: 7.5 Inches, (19.05 Cm). Measurements: The bracelet's width is 30 mm (1.18 Inches) and raise 13 mm over the wrist. Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark logo, the mark for the assay and warranty of the .750/.999 gold and signed as follows, "BEE (FIGURE) K18". Collateral: This bracelet is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Collateral: This bracelet is accompanied by a certificate appraisal, prepared by a GIA certified gemologist stating all the characteristics of this piece of jewelry, the exact description of the diamonds and the aquamarine and the today's market replacement value. Condition: The overall condition of this deco-retro bracelet is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The 17 gemstones are secured in the settings. A jeweled bracelet designed by Gubelin. Gorgeous piece of jewelry created by the Gubelin house, in Zurich Switzerland, circa 1960. This unique bracelet was crafted in solid 18 karats yellow gold and is suited, with an integrated boxed push lock, with a figure 8 for extra security. The craftmanship and the assembling are exceptional, realized by multiples links attached together by invisible pins. Embellished with very fine natural gemstones. all of them are carefully calibrated and are described as follow; prong set with 29 round brilliants cuts of natural Colombian green emeralds with a combined weight of 2.90 carats. They are completely transparent, with great vivid color saturation and not treated with oil. Burnish set, with 87 round brilliants cut diamonds, 1.74 carats, E/F color, VS-1 clarity. Have a weight of 33.6 grams and a length of 7 inches (20.7 cm). signed and stamped with the hallmarks, "Gubelin Swiss Made .750". The Gubelin house was founded in 1854 when Mauritz Breitschmid opened a watchmaker's shop on the Pfistergasse in Lucerne. a few years later, in 1861, Eduard Jakob Gübelin was born in eastern Switzerland. he subsequently moved to Lucerne and was apprenticed to the watchmaker Mauritz Breitschmid. The year 1886 marked a special occasion in the young watchmaker's life as Eduard Jakob Gübelin married bertha Sophia Breitschmid, the daughter of his old master. In the same year, the two men became business partners, managing the growing company together. In the 1920s Gübelin opened its own jewelry atelier and at the same time set up a small gemological laboratory so that it could test – and be sure of the authenticity – of the stones its jewelers used. It also continued making and repairing fine watches for a discerning clientele, developing a reputation that soon reached throughout Europe and overseas. Since 1854, the house of Gübelin has always been in the hands of the family and led by a family member throughout time the Gübelin family carefully nurtured its traditions.
