About the Item
This bracelet dates from the 1930s and is an exceptionally rare creation by the German Schrieber and Hiller.
Condition Report:
Very Good - A little element of darkening to some of the paste stones on the head and tail of the snake. This is consistent with age and use and does not detract from the appeal of the piece.
The Details...
This bracelet is constructed from chrome plated metal and features a coiled snake motif. The band consists of flexible, articulated links, which are channel set with small, round, colourless and black paste stones. The stones are arranged to form a chequerboard pattern along the length of the snake's body. The head and tail of the snake are set with small, round, colourless paste stones too and the eyes of the snake are detailed with small, round, green glass cabochons. The bracelet fastens with a box clasp. The interior of the bracelet is stamped with the mark 'D.R.G.M.' and a patent number. It is also stamped with 'PATENTED'. The bracelet measures 18cm in length.

This bracelet was made by the German Schreiber and Hiller company who stamped their jewellery with the patent DRGM in the 1930s. It stands for Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchsmuster. Schreiber & Hiller was a renowned German jewelry manufacturer, active during the early 20th century, particularly known for producing high-quality Art Deco jewellery. Based in Pforzheim, Germany—an area famous for its jewellery craftsmanship—the brand specialised in intricate designs featuring chrome plated metal and paste stones and reflecting the bold geometric patterns of the Art Deco movement.
