About the Item
An exceptional micromosaic brooch (circa 1800-1825) reminiscent of a fine renaissance era painting.
Created by the hands of a master craftsman, this extraordinary miniature work of art is exceptional in its details from the shading and highlights on the leaves of the trees, the faces of the people, to the barely noticeable village off in the distance.
The mosaic is mounted in 18k gold with natural ruby and turquoise accents and hand set cannetille wire work and granulation.
The piece measures 1.6 inches by 1.8 inches wide. It is in excellent condition with some minor loss to a small bit of wire on one of the cannetille pieces (visible only under magnification) and the pin findings are a later replacement.
