About the Item

Art Nouveau Gargoyle Stickpin in 14k Gold with Pearl, by Blank & Co. (Circa 1910) A fantastical and finely crafted jewel from one of Newark’s most celebrated workshops. This rare and evocative Art Nouveau stickpin, circa 1910, features a sculptural gargoyle rendered in 14k gold, its fierce expression heightened by a luminous pearl clenched in its mouth. Bold in character and rich in detail, the piece reflects the era’s fascination with mythological motifs and the macabre. The reverse bears the maker’s mark for Blank & Co., a distinguished Newark firm renowned for their finely executed gold jewelry at the turn of the century. The pin head measures 0.5 inches by 0.5 inches, with an overall length of 2.6 inches (excluding the cap), and weighs 3.04 grams. It remains in excellent condition. Available as a stickpin or may be professionally converted to a one-of-a-kind charm or pendant for an additional charge. Gold content verified via X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing. Materials: 14k gold, pearl
