This Victorian French-made diamond and gold dragonfly brooch is a truly exquisite piece of jewelry that deserves to be cherished and admired. DIAMONDS: one hundred twenty diamonds totaling approximately 1.85 carats. There is one Old Mine cut diamond and the rest are rose cut diamonds.
BODY: made of carved ebony.
METAL: 18-karat yellow enhanced by a natural patina acquired through the antiquity of the piece.
WEIGHT: 12.7 grams.
MEASUREMENTS: approximately 1 ¾” (4.45 cm) long and 2-1/8” (5.40 cm) wingspan.
CONDITION: high magnification photographs show considerable design details, and the item is in good condition, all consistent with age and wear.
