This amazingly large 79.00 CT natural untreated Madeira Citrine of the most wonderful colour, large oval faceted cut, very rare when untreated
So chic and unique late Art Deco period, 1935 ca, mounted in a 18 KT mounting of geometric pattern, each triangular petal like is embellished with natural baby pearls for a rare visual effect
Substantial 26.9 grams in weight, 42 x 35 mm. h. x w. - very good condition
Citrine quartz has been adored since ancient times. The name “citrine” was used to refer to yellow gemstones as early as 1385, when the word was first recorded in English. However, since the gemstone’s color closely resembled topaz, these two November birthstones shared a history of mistaken identities.
