About the Item
A possibly unique neckpiece and brooch parure by Ronald Hayes Pearson.
Comprised of a 14-karat forged yellow gold collar necklace together with a 14-karat forged yellow gold brooch set with a very large baroque pearl.
The reverse of the necklace has a small loop guide for the brooch, and the brooch is secured with its pin back.
Both necklace and brooch are stamped Pearson and 14K.
Ronald Pearson is an extremely important figure in the 20th Century American Craft movement. Together with John Prip and others, Ronald Pearson opened the highly acclaimed Shop One in Rochester, New York. He was, together with Stanley Lechtzin, Robert Ebendorf, and Olaf Skoogfors, a founding member of the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG)
Works by Pearson are held in important museums including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, MoMA in New York, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and others, as well as in numerous important private collections.
