About the Item
A beautifully crafted antique Victorian crescent moon brooch set with natural sapphires and old-cut diamonds. The brooch features a silver-on-gold construction typical of the mid-to-late 19th century, with 13 graduated oval mixed-cut sapphires of deep blue hue bordered by 60 antique-cut diamonds, including old mine, old European, single, and Swiss cuts. The stones are mounted in silver settings over a yellow gold backing, fitted with a classic brooch pin and safety chain.
