Really cool antique Italian micro mosaic brooch with a Greek mythological phoenix bird. The phoenix rises out of her ashes stronger and more powerful than she was before! This micro mosaic brooch from the Victorian Era depicts a large bird in flight, a mythical Greek phoenix. The arrows below the bird, represent the rising and rebirth. Pieces such as this were created in the 1870's and most often come out of Italy, although there are no hallmarks on this piece. Colors used are baby blue, grey, off-white and a bit of orange on a black background. Design is an elongated diamond shape with a detailed 14k gold frame to show this piece to its best advantage. An old fashioned c-clasp captures the pin on the reverse. There are no hallmarks present which is common on pieces of such antiquity. This brooch was tested at 14 Karat gold. Ready to be worn and admired! A welcomed addition to your fine collection. Please ask all necessary questions prior to placing an order!

This lovely brooch measures 2.75" long. 7/8" tall, and weighs 11.7 grams.
Condition:
The overall all condition of this piece is very good with age appropriate wear. Some pieces of the mosaic are no longer present but still displays beautifully. Noticed under magnification but does not deter from this rare brooch. *REDUCED PRICING REFLECTS IMPERFECTIONS!
