This beautiful pair of modernist studs earrings, was crafted in Australia with geometric triangular shapes in solid yellow gold of 14Kt with high polished finish. They are mounted with a gorgeous pair of natural boulder opals and two carved black jets stones. The earrings are fitted at the reverse with gold posts for pierced ears and butterfly push backs Boulder Opal Australian boulder opal is very unique, rare and extremely colorful. Boulder opal is mined from the large ironstone boulders (big rock) under the ground and that's why we called it 'BOULDER'. Top quality boulder opal may fetch prices of up to AUD $3,500 per carat for a gem quality stone. Black Jet Jet is generally classified as a lignite coal and has a high carbon content and a layered structure. It is typically black to dark brown and can sometimes contain tiny inclusions of pyrite. Jet has been carved for ornamental purposes since prehistoric times. The term “jet black” gets its name from the color of jet. Jet is a semi-precious gemstone, though it's been beloved for centuries. Jet (or “lignite”) is a plant-based mineraloid, meaning it's mineral-like. It's also an organic gemstone alongside amber, pearl, and coral, as jet forms from wood decomposition.
