Magnificent pair of clips-on earrings, created in Athens Greece by the jewelry makers of Zolotas, back in the late 1970's. These gorgeous pair of earrings are a real statement and was carefully crafted with ancient Greece technique in solid rich yellow gold of 22 karats with brushed and hammered finishes. They were designed as a left and right pair, with fluted patterns and are fitted at the reverse with comfortable hinged French omega backs for fastening clips. The addition of gold posts for pierced ears can be easily done.
Weight: 29.85 Grams, (19.15 Dwt).
Measurements: 45 mm by 27 mm (1.85 x 1.06 Inches).
Hallmarks: They are both stamped with Greek marks, the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the .916/.999 gold and signed as follows, "ZOLOTAS GREECE 22KT AM24".
History of Zolotas
The firm of Zolotas, was founded in Athens in 1895 by Efthimios Zolotas. The jewelry of Zolotas is very well known for their designs inspired by Greek antiquity. In the 1950, they made the decision to create the trademark and branches out into international markets. It was also during this era that the jewelry House of Zolotas began crafting what would become their ancient Greek signature style. In a gorgeous combination of modern and ancient styles. The high karat gold jewelry was fashioned using traditional techniques and motifs with contemporary flair. The symbols which had been sacred to the Greek culture some thousands of years prior were now manifested in ram, lion, snake and bull jewelry. The house’s clientele continued to expand gaining such important personages as Aristotle Onassis and his wife, the former first lady of the United States, Jackie Kennedy Onassis. By the 1970’s, Zolotas had established its presence in Paris. The brand continued to create incredible pieces which bridged the gap between the contemporary and Classical worlds. Artist Claude Lalanne, and world-renowned jewelry designer Paloma Picasso (of Tiffany & Company fame), as well as a number of other artists and designers, created limited collections for the brand. The company continued its tradition of innovation, elegance and respect for a glorious past throughout the latter half of the 20th Century.

An exceptional beautiful pair of clips-on earrings, created in Greece by the jewelry house of Zolotas. These vintage earrings have been crafted with ancient Greeks patterns in solid rich yellow gold of 22 karats with hammered and frosted finishes. The earrings were designed as left and right and embellished with two natural earth mined lapis lazuli. They are fitted at the reverse with post for pierced ears and French omega backs for fastening clips.
Lapis Lazuli: Mounted in bezel settings, with 2 round cabochons cuts (15 x 15 x 5 mm) of natural blue lapis lazuli with a weight of about 16.70 carats.
Birthstone: Lapis lazuli for the month of September.

These pair of sculptural ear-clips earrings has been crafted in solid rich yellow gold of 22 karats and finished with highly textured and hammered patterns. Jean Mahie, is the result of a wonderfully symbiotic and fruitful partnership between Jacline Mazard and her father-in-law Jean-Marie Mazard. They first began combining their artistic talents in 1969, working from a studio in Mouans-Sartoux in the South of France, and launched their jewellery line the following year. Neither was formally trained and both preferred to work with 22ct gold in order to realise their unique style that embodied primitive form, motifs and techniques. Everything they made was entirely hand crafted with Jacline often drawing inspiration from her memories of growing up near the ancient ruins of Carthage in Tunisia.
