About the Item
These beautiful 95.6 carats tanzanite rosecuts together with two moonstone cabochons, I made into earrings with irregular 18K whitegold settings. Little irregularities can add a relaxed tone to large gems and make them appear so normal, that they match very casual outfits. These earrings can be perfectly worn both, with an evening robe or on an everyday basis with bluejeans. With 9.9 grams 18K Whitegold together with the 95.6 carats Tanzanites and the moonstones, the weight of these earrings is 29 grams. With heavier earrings like these, it is very important that they are well positoned on the earlobe so that they don't feel uncomportable and the top part (the moonstone setting) doesn't hang, looking downwards. To prevent such a instabile position of the top setting on the earlobe, I added little additional bows to the stoppers that are attached to the pins from the back side of the earlobe (you can see them on the last picture). These bows add enough stability as they give little counter touch on the back side, higher on the earlobe. This way they don't allow the moonstone settings to bend downwards and they also give a better balanced feeling on the earlobe.
