Made in France, with its unusual and high quality beads, this necklace is likely to have been created by the Louis Rousselet company.

The Details...
This necklace is detailed with purple and turquoise glass beads and swirled glass beads which range from purple to colourless with a hint of purple. The necklace also features brass beads stamped with patterns. The beads are all threaded onto silk thread and the necklace fastens with a barrel clasp, which is stamped at one end with 'MADE IN FRANCE'. The necklace measures 45cm.
A Short History...
Louis Rousselet was a major manufacturer of glass beads and jewellery incorporating his beads in Paris from the 1920s until the early 1970s. He produced pieces for the most prominent couturiers, such as Chanel. The beads were all hand wound and polished and, therefore, of exceptional quality. Rousselet used brass findings and French barrel clasps in his work, as can be seen in this necklace. But, often the beads were threaded onto chain and not silk, as we find here. It's therefore possible that the beads and clasp are Rousselet, but have been re-strung into a silk thread necklace.
