About the Item

A colorful three-strand necklace can complete a fashionable sundress as elegantly as it can add a solid impact to a smartly tailored suit. This ultra-long and versatile Coral Bead Rock Crystal Necklace, made in the 21st Century, will take you from bohemian chic to boardroom bold with relative ease. The effortless drape and elongating lines are fabulous and flattering. Statement jewelry is an outward expression of your personality and flair, and it can reflect a signature style, but mostly it is of the moment and a symbolic way to express your mood du jour. As such, it is simply fun to wear. Sometimes bold, sometimes refined, but always unique, statement jewelry is even more enjoyable when you have multiple variations. The three strands of the three-strand necklace are held beautifully apart and succinctly in place by the 18k white gold 3-loop spacer tubes at the closure, ensuring your look will remain tangle-free, low-maintenance, and high style. The graduated strands are each comprised of a line of graduated red coral beads, mostly 7 in a row, but sometimes less or more to stagger the punctuation of single rock crystal beads flanked by black onyx. The rock crystal is faceted, perfectly clear, and plays with light compellingly, drawing your admirers closer to inspect what you have going on. Coral is one of just a handful of organic gems, like pearl, amber, and jet. Precious coral has a hardness of 3.5 on the Mohs scale, where the diamond is rated the highest at 10. White is the most common shade of coral, but various other shades include pink, orange, red, and black. The rarest hue is a deep red. Most coral is set into inlays or carved and shaped into cabochons or beads, as in this fine piece. The saturated color is an excellent contrast with rock crystal, sometimes called quartz crystal or pure quartz, a colorless and transparent variety that has been valued for thousands of years. Once considered too common a stone to be used in jewelry design, rock crystal started to feature alongside some seriously rare and expensive precious gems in high jewelry collections in the 1920s and 1930s by the world’s most well-known luxury brands, Cartier and Tiffany & Co. The necklace is a conversation starter; you will be ready with all the talking points. It was made in coral, rock crystal, onyx, and 18k white gold, circa 21st Century. The shortest strand is 30.25" (76.8 cm) long, the longest strand is 34.5" (87.6 cm) long. Weight 335 grams. ** Please note that this piece cannot be shipped out of the United States.

Conch pearls (pronounced KONK) are among the rarest and most valuable of all natural pearls. It has been estimated that approximately 15,000 conch must be harvested before a single pearl is found. An exceptional piece (pearls over 10 carats and exhibiting a strong chatoyant like flame pattern) may take as many as 50,000. Though pearls can be found in a variety of conch, it is the pearl from the Queen Conch, that has become the most widely known and collected. This is due in part to the wide variety of colors that it produces. Pearls can be found in colors of white, brown, beige, orange, pink and red, the latter two being the most highly prized. Finding a gem-quality conch pearl is known amongst fishermen as "the lotto". High prices are paid for such pearls, further adding to their allure. Over the last century, conch pearls have captured the attention of prestigious designers and jewelers alike. Conch pearls can be found in the world's most exclusive jewelry stores.
