Los Castillo Sterling Silver Necklace, Bracelet and Earring Set
About the Item
Matching Los Castillo silver necklace, bracelet and earring set. Made in Mexico with Los Castillos and Taxco markings, design #144. Featuring copper, brass and sterling silver. Sleek and modern design. Necklace and bracelet both have an open box style clasp. Earrings are screw back. All fixtures are in working order and secure. Necklace is strung on two metal cords.
Antonio Castillo and his three brothers opened their silver shop "Los Castillo" in 1939 in Taxco, Mexico. He had been an apprentice to William Spratling. Many skilled silversmiths worked in his shop and it is know for its quality sterling silver as well as mixed metal wares. Antonia Castillo died in 2000.
CONDITION: Has expected surface scratches and wear. Has been lightly polished, but has some tarnish / soiling in deep grooves consistent with age.
