Indulge in a very rare and early Dutch Bootjesketting Georgian to Victorian richly decorated Garnet Necklace with 25 links in 12 -14 Karat Gold. Each link is set with a gorgeous oval faceted Red Garnet. The Garnets are a vivid deep red color - just stunning! The individual gold links are each beautifully adorned with very fine filigree work and micro beading to create an absolutely stunning early antique garnet necklace. The necklace dates to the 1700s to 1800s.
In Dutch the necklace is known as a "bootjesketting" (little boats) necklace as it resembles a string of little boats. These were worn in the Netherlands as part of the traditional regional dress. The necklaces have been used since the 1700s. The early garnet necklaces are highly coveted by collectors of Georgian and Victorian jewelry as well as by lovers of Garnet jewels. The necklace is a treasure to be worn and to be passed on for generations.
Each link is stamped on the reverse with a leaf hallmark. The clasp is hallmarked JVK.
The necklace is 15.5 inches long. It can be easily lengthened if desired by adding simple gold chain links to the ends of the necklace. The necklace fits best as a choker style necklace.

A very rare antique Georgian to Victorian Snake Pendant Locket with a small hinged Locket opening in which to place a treasured memento, a mourning item, or possibly poison! The extraordinary Snake Pendant is 14 Karat Gold. The head and eyes of the snake are set with a pear shaped and two round faceted red Garnets. The locket portion is covered with a crystal or rock crystal cover on the front. The reverse of the locket portion opens with a lovely detailed hinge with a glass cover.
The pendant is 34mm long including the bales. Without the bales the snake is 28mm long and 12mm wide.
The interior of the locket portion is 4mm in diameter and is 4.5mm deep.
The snake is 14 Karat Gold.
