Ruth Rhoten Sterling Silver and 18K Gold Pendant Designed and created by Ruth Rhoten, renowned silversmith and jeweler, this is a one-of-a-kind, esoteric pendant shaped like a wand. Entirely handmade, this sterling silver and 18K gold pendant depicts a life-like bear's head with natural rutilated quartz crystal eyes at the top with a labradorite and moonstone cabochon. The bottom of the pendant has a natural amethyst crystal point. The interior has a brilliant moonstone gemstone. This pendant opens and has a place to put a secret note. Inside the head are silver beads that rattle making a pleasant sound. This unique item is a true collector's piece. This pendant comes with it's own handmade, velvet pouch. Dimensions: Pendant: 4.75" L. Chain: 20" L Ruth Rhoten bio: An established Bay Area artist and silversmith, Ruth Rhoten began her career by earning a BFA from the University of Kansas. She then continued her studies at both the Technological Institute of Denmark and the Soborg School in Copenhagen, followed by the completion of a sheet metal apprenticeship in Seattle, Washington during the 1970s. Ruth then traveled to Ireland to train in the art of silversmithing during the 1990s. Presently, Ruth manages her own successful smithy in the San Francisco Bay Area creating unique designs as well as commissioned pieces. Ruth’s hand-wrought sterling silver and gold creations in holloware and jewelry capture the natural movements of water and wind in modern, creating beautiful, functional works of art. Her designs often feature exquisite, high-quality precious stones and pearls. Many of her one-of-a-kind pieces have been collected and curated by individuals worldwide. Ruth lends her skills in metalworking to restoring beloved holloware of 17th and 18th century English, early American, and modern Scandinavian designs. Many of Ruth’s designs have been prominently featured within California exhibitions as well as shows in New York and Seattle. Her work has been featured within Elle Decor as well as within a 2000 TV documentary. In addition, Ruth has also given many lectures on metalworking, the artistic process, and ‘art as healing.’
