About the Item

Brazilian Sterling Silver Wire-Wrapped Aventurine Necklace, circa 1960's Circa the 1960’s, this is a bold sterling silver wire-wrapped necklace from São Paolo, Brazil. It contains 40 aventurine stones, in varying shades of light green, many of which sparkle from the flecks of quartz that are natural to the stone. The stones are oblong in shape, each slightly different, but well-matched, narrow at the top and wider at the bottom, creating an effect of the stones feeding into each other. Sterling silver holds the aventurine in place, wrapping around the stones with zigzag bends in the structure. The silver has a lovely patina that gives the necklace a vintage feel and blends nicely with the marbling of the aventurine. Aventurine is a type of green quartz and is known as one of the luckiest stones. It is believed to bring good luck and opportunity, and to increase receptivity to abundance. Its name comes from the Italian words “a venture”, meaning “by chance”, and it will bring fortune to your adventures. It is approximately 48” long, with each stone measuring approximately 3/4" to 1" x 1/2", and can be worn as a long necklace, or wrapped around the neck twice. It even looks great worn flapper style!

14K Gold Victorian Rose Cut Diamond Drop Necklace with Bow
Located in Venice, CA
At the focal point of this elegant Victorian-era drop necklace are three antique diamonds suspended from a bow and navette shaped bar. The diamonds are Dutch rose cut, with layers of facets cut by hand, making each diamond one-of-a-kind with its own unique way of reflecting light. The largest, bottom diamond appears round, and the diamonds descend in size, with the middle and top diamond taking a more oval shape. The necklace has a 14k gold back and a silver front—a traditional way of mounting jewelry in the Victorian era. The beautiful diamonds rest in a silver backing, so the stones catch the light and reflect it brilliantly. The diamonds are topped by a bow, which contains seven smaller rose-cut diamonds, surrounded by millegrain details that add subtle texture. A transitional bar connects the bow to the teardrop section, and features an eighth diamond set in a navette shaped mount. The bow, navette, and diamond trio are articulated, so there is lots of movement while worn, adding to piece’s elegance. The necklace is circa 1890’s. Kirsten’s Corner has added an antique platinum chain...
