About the Item
The bee has always been considered a rather important animal. This is evident from the presence, or rather, the multitude of representations in art and, in general, in symbolism.
Man draws several lessons from bees. From them we can learn to live well in a community, to enjoy each other's company, to appreciate the help of fellow human beings, knowing that it has value not relative to the individual, but to the whole community. The symbolism of this precious creature leads man to reflect on the importance of teamwork, cooperation and sharing for the same common goal.
To the ancient Greeks, Celts and Germans, the honey-producing bee represented the symbol of abundance and wealth, and because of its disappearance in the winter months and its return in spring it also depicted the eternal rebirth and renewal of nature.
In ancient Rome the bee is present as a symbol of virtue; in the Christian-Catholic civilization of the soul, chastity, integrity and Christian community.
Then in Imperial France it was associated with nobility and wealth. In Italy, especially in the world of Christianity, it has become a theological symbol of Hope and has appeared in depictions of St. Ambrose, but also John Chrysostom and St. Rita of Cascia. We also find the bee in the coat of arms of Pope Urban III Barberini and inside the house's palace. Also present in the Bonaparte family emblem to symbolize a sense of order and zeal.
