Alain Lerolle Silvered Metal Necklace with Brutalist Pendant
About the Item
This stunning choker necklace by French artist Alain Lerolle features a brutalist and modernist unstructured shape with a dangling, dimensional, carved pendant in silvered metal. The piece is signed on the underside with the engraved Lerolle marking.
The necklace is in fantastic condition and shows no significant signs of wear and tear.
Measurements: The necklace's total length is 22.44 in (57 cm) - The drop is 12.63 in long (32 cm) - The pendant is 2.13 in wide (5.4 cm) x 1.63 in high (4.1 cm).
Note: Alain Lerolle (1947 - 2012)
Born in 1947, Alain Lerolle opened his first gallery in Tréguier, Côtes-d'Armor, France, in the 1970s.
A creator of contemporary jewelry, he is an expert in using and mastering titanium and is considered a pioneer in this field. He is particularly interested in creating graphic and abstract compositions using brooches or pendants.
He worked with glass for many years, creating totems and exhibiting his works worldwide.
In the early 1990s, he returned to painting, creating geometric abstractions and mixed-media artworks that incorporated architectural elements into his jewelry designs.
In addition to his primary pursuits, he appreciates exploring his creativity by crafting beautiful and intricate decorative objects. Among his diverse creations are meticulously crafted boxes and delicate porcelain pieces.
His works are regularly featured in the sales of major auction houses, such as Tajan, Pierre Bergé, and Aguttes. Alain Lerolle died in 2012.
