About the Item

This pendant features an authentic silver drachm struck during the reign of Alexander III of Macedon, better known as Alexander the Great (336–323 BC). The coin is hand-set in a custom solid 18k gold bezel that preserves both obverse and reverse, allowing full appreciation of this historically significant artifact. On the obverse is a powerful portrait of Herakles, depicted wearing the lion-skin headdress of the Nemean lion—a heroic symbol that Alexander himself adopted. The reverse presents Zeus, seated confidently on a throne, holding a scepter and eagle—divine emblems of kingship and conquest. The inscription reads ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, “of Alexander.” Each mark and strike on this coin reflects its journey through hands and empires over 2,300 years ago. With its vivid classical iconography and rich historical provenance, this pendant is both timeless adornment and tangible legacy.
