About the Item

Antique,ca late 18th - early 19th century hand-made necklace, Egyptian revival styled or could be used for ceremonial or religious purposes. A linked chain with repeating floral pattern and double-sided medallion with the depiction of the Eye of God or the Eye of Providence in solid 18K/ 20K. Metal of chain and pendant is definitely higher than 18K. No hallmarks. The Eye of Divine Providence under glass covers with openwork ( light goes through) and faceted Rays of Glory seem to be looking identically on both sides. Underneath the triangles, there are tiny inscriptions in dot code that apparently do not match and may have different meanings or have no meanings at all. On the pendant there are 20 florets with faceted and riveted Cut Gold settings that remind similar type of riveted Cut Steel settings that were common in the 18th - early 19th centuries. These cut and faceted settings shine brightly and sparkle under the Sun ☀. V - The lock is decorated with Eternity knots, very tight, closed with a click. The lock may be a later 19th cent. replacement, metal is 18K. The chain is 40 cm long. Weight: 26.6 grams In Finest condition. No damage or repairs. Stones of the rings photographed alone may look a bit differently when on hand because your finger makes the back side of the stone closed and light no longer can go through and the color becomes different. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. Some buyers tried to make return of the items and to avoid paying shipping and restock expenses claimed that : " color is different from that on image .. " there are inclusions that I didn't notice " "it looks smaller than I expected" .. Unfortunately Internet sales do not allow us to see the items in person before we get them by post.
