This is an antique 19th century rose cut diamond pendant which can also be worn as a brooch. This oval-shaped brooch pendant is created with many bright rose cut diamonds set in a second grade silver and gold frame. The diamonds are placed throughout the brooch set in a silver mounting, mille griffe work is created on the openwork rim. The back of the pendant is made of 14 karat gold and so is the pin closure which is attached in a later period to the pendant. The lovely design of the pendant is reminiscent of a blooming flower. This elegant antique cross pendant is a refined example of mid-19th century devotional jewelry, dating to around circa 1850, and crafted in silver with a 14 karat yellow gold backing. This is a spectacular antique Victorian - Belle Epoque Butterfly Pendant or Brooch set throughout with Rose Cut Diamonds, Pearls and Rubies in a gorgeous open work design in Silver atop 14 Karat Yellow Gold.
