This is a stunning and very rare antique Art Nouveau - Art Deco French Devil and Cicada Insect Bug Pendant Necklace in Bakelite or the French form Galalith with Venetian Glass beads. The extraordinary jewel with the devil motif is extremely rare!
The necklace has fabulous design and a wonderful long length of 33 inches. The devil cicada drop is 3 1/2 inches long. The face of the devil is made of brass and has incredible expressive details in his eyes, horns, acanthus motif eyebrows, his long ears and devilish grin! The wonderful chain is further adorned with black with white swirl Venetian glass beads. The necklace dates to 1900-1930. The necklace will dance delightfully across the body when worn and devil and insect jewelry is all the rage today!
