About the Item

Edwardian enameled flower convertible brooch. An extremely beautiful and rare piece, created in America during the Edwardian and the Art Nouveau periods, back in the 1900-1910. This outstanding convertible pendant-brooch has been carefully crafted in the shape of a five-petals flower in solid yellow gold of 14 karats. The five petals are embellished with applications of non-glossy powder enamel, with gradations of greens and white colors. The enamel work is exceptional and meticulous, far exceeding the details of the fibers and veins of the leaves. It is a little jewel with exquisite and exceptional details. Flowers symbolize a hope that love should not be forgotten. Fitted at the reverse with an horizontal hinged pin bar with a hook to wear as a brooch and a retractable hinged swivel ring to be wear in a chain as a pendant. Diamond: Mounted in the center in a six-prongs setting, with 1 old European rose cut diamond of 0.20 carats, white colorless F/G color, SI clarity. Pearls: Mount in flat settings, with 47 halve round white pearl graduated between 1.0 to 1.5 mm. Weight: 5.95 Grams (3.82 Dwt). Measurements: 30 mm by 30 mm by 7 mm (1.18 x 1.18 x 0.28 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and the gold assay mark, "14KT". Edwardian Jewelry The Edwardian Jewelry Period was during the King Edward VII, after whom this period of jewelry history is named, reigned over England for only nine years, yet the style of jewelry known as “Edwardian” was created roughly between 1890 and 1920. Edwardian-era rings tend to be larger, opulent pieces, and stacked ring designs were popular. The metal surfaces of the jewelry pieces were often diamond-encrusted for additional shimmer. Each of these pieces is a work of art, showcasing a bygone era of grace, elegance and the royalty the Edwardian era is named for. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this brooch is impeccable. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The gemstones are secured in the setting and the enamel is perfect. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity. INVENTORY REF: P062423MMNM/.1115
