About the Item

This beautiful pendant was created c.1900. It features an elegant bow design. Condition Report: Excellent The Details... This brooch/pendant is constructed from silver. It tests as being made from silver and is stamped with two very faint hallmarks on the catch of the brooch. The piece features a bow motif and suspended from this are 3 teardrop designs increasing inside and set within each other. The piece is set with small, round, colourless paste stones and is detailed with a single, teardrop shaped, bezel set, open-back mounted, pink glass stone. The piece features a small bail so that it may be worn as a pendant. To allow it to be worn as a brooch, the fastening pin is attached to the piece with a tube hinge and the brooch fastens with a 'C' catch. The brooch measures 3cm x 4.5cm. A Short History... This pendant is a lovely example of garland style jewellery from the Edwardian era. Designs were typified by ribbons, laurel wreaths, bows, knots and tassels creating soft, dripping lines in jewels that had previously been quite structured. The garland style borrowed motifs from 18th century jewellery design and injected them with greater fluidity of line. Wear it With... Add this pendant to your favourite chain and add other charms to compliment it.

c.1900 Jugendstil Antique Paste and Red Glass Pendant
Located in Skelmersdale, GB
This beautiful pendant was probably created in Austria in c.1900. Condition Report: Excellent The Details... This pendant is constructed from gilded metal. It features a typically abstract, but organic, Jugendstil design. It is set with an oval shaped, open-back, red glass stone and round, colourless, multi-faceted paste stones. It measures 7cm x 4.75cm. A Short History... The term Jugendstil, meaning "Young Style," was derived from the magazine Die Jugend and describes an art and design movement which took place in Germany from c.1896 through to c.1915. Taking place at the same time as the Art Nouveau movement, which was inspired by the natural world, Jugendstil was also heavily influenced by organic shapes but contrasted them with geometric forms resulting in very stylised designs. Important Jugendstil jewellery designers were Carl Herman, Meyle and Mayer...

Brooch in 18 karat rose gold, eagle head hallmark, and silver. Charming antique jewel with transformation, it represents a knot moved and decorated with rose- cut diamonds. A pin with a safety hook allows to wear this jewel as a brooch. This part is removable thanks to a small screw. A hook allows you to attach a tassel made of a lobster clasp adorned with a fleur-de-lis pattern set with rose-cut diamonds. This set is removable but can also allow to attach to the brooch another pendant to the lobster clasp or to slip a chain to wear the set as an antique pendant. Height : 3,5 cm approximately, width : 3 cm approximately, thickness : 11 mm approximately. Total weight of the jewel : 9,7 g approximately. Authentic antique jewel - French work of the second half of the XIXth century. Our opinion : An antique diamond...
