About the Item

Convertible pendant-brooch designed by Emil Meister. This is a fabulous three-dimensional pendant brooch, made in Zurich, Switzerland by the famous jeweler Emil Meister, between the 1950-1960. This pendant-brooch was designed as a carnation flower, with brutalism patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with textured finish and parts in palladium or the settings of the diamonds. The petals are decorated back and front, with brushed crisscross Florentine finish and few of them are embellished with sixty-nine natural white colorless diamonds. This brooch is one-of-a-kind, and is fitted at the reverse with a pair of hinged pins bars with two trombone locks to be wear as a brooch and a rectangular movable ring to be hanged into a chain or necklace. This is an extraordinary piece of Swiss jewelry. Diamonds: The palladium parts are embellished, with an impeccable pave setting of 69 round brilliant cut diamonds, 3.45 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-2 clarity. Weight: 76.6 grams, (49.15). Measures: 60 by 60 by 30 mm (2.36 by 2.36 by 1.18 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped, with the maker's mark, the swiss control mark for the assay of the gold and signed as follow, "MEISTER EM .750". Emil Meister The Meister company was founded in 1881 by the goldsmith Emil Meister, as the Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich still looked like a wide country road lined with trees, with the building of the first street-car lines, the Horse-tram (Rösslitram), started in the Bahnhofstrasse. Since then, the tradition of style, top quality, competence and trust has been upheld in all four companies. The high standard of handcraftsmanship is still maintained in their gold and silver workshops. During that time the bold minded goldsmith Emil Meister founded in Münsterhof 16 a shop for trading in jewelry and silverware. This flourished during four generations into a powerful company, represented today by three stores at top addresses in Zurich, now selling gold and diamond jewelry, watches, silver and crystal glass objects, porcelain and renowned top-quality brands. Meister is actually one of the best jewelry houses of Zurich. Collateral: This brooch is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. The chain is not included. Condition: The overall condition of this Emil Meister pendant is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The 69 diamonds are secured in their settings.
