This spectacular and ornate Victorian pendant created in the Renaissance revival style comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Beginning in the mid-nineteenth century, there was a revival in the lush and detailed styles of the Italian Renaissance, in architecture, interior design, and jewellery. This intricate pendant is bursting with both detail and color and reminiscent of high Renaissance architecture. The enamel work is finely done, with depth and shadow detail on the pink swag curtains and shading the faces of the two griffins. A magnificent piece.
Should you choose to make this purchase we would be delighted to send it to you in a Bentley & Skinner handmade leather case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley & Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
