Vintage Frascarolo Plique-a-Jour Necklace of 18k Gold
About the Item
French for "letting in daylight," Plique-a-jour is an enamel technique that allows light to shine through the back of a piece of jewelry giving it an ethereal stained glass window effect.
This playful pendant by the renowned Italian firm, Frascarolo, features a chandeleir-like cascade of blue plique-a-jour enamel teardrops set in 18k gold.
The mid-20th century pendant measures 2.2 inches high and 1.2 inches high and bears the Frascarolo mark "347AL."
It is accompanied by a 16 inch, 14k gold chain.
The metal content of this necklace was verified via XRF (x ray analysis) and with jeweler's acids.
