Its creator Alphonse Augis, grandson of the founder of the House, then had the idea of transcribing the verses of a famous poem by Mrs. Rosemonde Rostand entitled "The Old Ones" dating from 1889, a true declaration of love to her husband Edmond Rostand. "Because you see every day I love you more, today more than yesterday and much less than tomorrow." The drawing varies, but usually includes a quote from a poem with "more than" and "less than" represented by plus and minus signs, often decorated with precious stones, traditionally rubies.
