About the Item
This beautiful antique buckle is a fine example of Edwardian or early 20th-century European craftsmanship. Rendered in sterling silver (.925, fully hallmarked), the piece features a stunning octagonal form measuring approximately 6 cm wide by 6.5 cm high.
The face is adorned with pale guilloché enamel, overlaid with a delicate hand-painted design of pink roses and green foliage, interspersed with flowing lavender ribbon detailing. The outer edge is bordered with a refined beaded silver trim, adding a further touch of elegance.
The reverse side reveals the original hinged fittings, all intact and functional, with clear hallmarks confirming its silver content and European origin, presumably Germany.
A beautiful accessory for collectors of antique enamels or wearable art, this buckle would make a striking addition to a sash, belt, or display piece in a fine collection.
