About the Item

1920s- 1930s Spanish Sterling Silver Flexible or Bending Fish with Green Glass eyes. This Fish is a remarkable table decoration with incredibly flexible body. All parts are intricately engraved in definite pattern to create textured appearance of small scales running in stripes.It is made of 17 moving sections/parts including head and tail,all parts are connected to each-other with special nails that go through inside the body. Holding a tip of the tail with one hand and the head with the other it’s easy to make wavy movements with its body, forward and back. It moves so realistically and smoothly that the fish seems to be alive even from the nearest distance.Its flexibility allows to place it in different positions on any even surface. This fish is made of tested high grade Silver alloy / Sterling Silver . Most likely made in Spain in 1920s -1940s Measurements: 12. 5 cm long. Diameter: head is 30 mm at its widest. Diameter of each eye –> 6mm Weight: 39 grams Finest Used Condition. Slight scratches and patina on metal. Polishing of the band is always a final step of any resizing but machinery used for polishing causes vibration that old rings (with prongs for example ) often do not like at all.
