Antique Georgian Memorial Ring for a General

About the Item

Why do we offer this Georgian Memorial Ring? Because it honors a person who served to protect his country. We separate our strong principle against war from those who put their lives on the line. Crisp and clear raised engraved edges protect this enameled 18 kt band ring memorializing General David Willis in 1818. The enamel is in perfect condition, the central band being black with gold writing and the outer bands contrasting in white. Completely hallmarked and stamped 18 Kt, his is a beautiful ring on the hand and a wonderful example of the manner in which loved ones and important figures were honored in the Georgian and Victorian eras. Condition is Excellent. Size is 9 1/4 and cannot be sized.

The shank engraved all around states In Memory of. Inside the inscription tells some history about Miss Jane Fitzherbert. She was deceased October 11 1822 at age 65.
