About the Item

Old Halo Ruby and Diamonds Ring once created 111 years ago on the territory of The Grand Duchy of Finland - at that time a part of Russian Empire. Hallmarked with 750, crown of Nicholas II - Pince of Finland of that time, Two Towers & One House in Between / logo of the city of Hämeenlinna and Maker's initials. Year combination I5 / hand - made in 1914 in accordance with official Finish Year combinations table. The main attraction of this design is a crown in White Gold or Silver 9 mm x 8.15 mm x 5mm deep decorated with beautiful natural oval cut Red Sapphire of bright deep Red color of so called " Pigeon Blood " variety measuring 4.5 mm x 3.75 mm x 3mm deep / ca.0.4ct surrounded with eleven old mine cut Diamonds Ø 1.75mm / 0.025ct each. Color ca. G,H / Vs. All stones have open backs. All stones of this design are set in extra secure bezel - type settings that firmly hold the stones and provide best protection. Such settings construction is very loss - wear - damage resistant making this ring great for every day careful wear. Size:Ø 7 US / Ø 17.35 mm. Can be sized. Weight: 2.8 grams Used fine condition.Minor wear to facets of Ruby. Natural tarnish/ patina on some parts. The Grand Duchy of Finland that was the predecessor state of modern Finland that It existed from 1809 to 1917 as an autonomous state within the Russian Empire. Gemstones may often look differently in different light and weather conditions and time of the day, both indoors and outdoors. Stones of the rings photographed alone may look a bit differently when on hand because your finger makes the back side of the stone closed and light no longer can go through and the color becomes different. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. CUSTOM WORK : About Resizing: Resizing of rings can be done on request. The work will be done by experienced professional jeweler. Atelier De Montplaisir will not be responsible if in the process of resizing or customization any stone on the ring becomes loose, if any deformation occurs in general or if band of the ring changes shape or becomes deformed. Such misfortunes may occur very seldom, but cannot be ruled out when dealing with old jewelry for any sizing requires heating and change of the band's shape. Polishing of the band is always a final step of any resizing but machinery used for polishing causes vibration that old rings (with prongs for example ) often do not like at all.
